my last winter break.

i can't believe i just typed that.

why??????????

ok...get a grip

things i have learned over break so far:
1. traveling with a large group of people has made me realize that i don't want a big family...(ok, i still kind of do..i want kids that all match in Polo and we travel together and are so cute) but maybe if they are my kids i can control them more. I loved going on the cruise, but it was stress city....and i put more stress on myself then anyone else put on me.
2. michael beasley has 2 kids. WHAT? michael, get a grip on your life and stop being a punk.
3. my computer has a slot where you can put a SD card in and it will pull up pictures right away! now i don't have to go searching for my camera hook up ever again! apple, you are genius.
4. as much as i love catching up with people i have not seen in a while, if your not dating anyone, or know what you are doing when you graduate, the conversation is awkwardly short. this i learned from experience, because both the above situations are true in my life.
5. i can't get anything done in my house, so being in manhattan for two weeks before school starts will hopefully make me be productive on jobsearch2010. i will also be baking lots of goodies in my NEW KITCHEN AID. love.
6. winsteads is possibly the only reason i would want to come to kansas city when i graduate. (ok this is not entirely true, but i miss that place)
7. i need to work out. this is my new years resolution
8. i am freaking gradating in may. it keeps getting closer. i got a K-State Alumni License plate thing for christmas from my little sister, who doesn't understand this freak out i have been having all fall. she is about to go into college, we'll see what she gets in four years for christmas...thats what we call karma.

i am sure the rest of break i will learn many more new things, but thats all i have for now.

have a good new years, and if you are in the little apple, look for me.*

*i wrote something else here originally, but decided not to post it. if you know me well, i'm sure you can guess what i said.

we survived.

friends. the semester is over.
there were times when the dark cloud of doom was so dark, i didn't think this day would come.

but the dark cloud has moved on and passed and it feels great.
i rewarded myself with a cruise with my fellow kappa sisters. which was so much fun.
besides the fact that we almost didn't make it.
but i did get sunburnt on only the left side of my body. typical.

and now tomorrow is Christmas Eve. doesn't feel like it.

remember when Christmas never seemed to come fast enough?
now its like. oh no, its christmas eve and i have nothing to give people.

i miss that feeling of waiting for Christmas. it must be me getting old.
i still have no clue where i will be coming from a year from now, but i won't be home coming downstairs for christmas. i will be coming from somewhere else. I decided i can't move back home after graduation. not possible.

goal for break. get stuff ready to send out to people that will hire me.
wish me luck.

merry christmas friends, i hope its great.

lessons from hale.

considering i spent probably 80% of my life from monday to thursday in the library i will share with you my wisdom.

the third floor is where it is at. not only is it where i lived, but it also has a TV hooked up to cable, which is where i watched the basketball game on tuesday night.
when you live at the library, you have every right to...
• turn on the cupid shuffle and dance to it. (3am wednesday morning)
• lay on the ground and stretch. (done countless times)
• call your roommates and ask them to bring you food--which i have the best roomates and they did this. and i was SO GRATEFUL. you don't even know.
• drink caffeine non stop. (check)
• talk loudly and complain
• wear sweatpants, uggs, and layers of tshirts to cover up your smell.
• bring the most random food with you. for example, mint m&m's, a whole jar of applesauce, apples, peanut butter and jelly.

my group decided that i should have a stack named after me for a day. cause this is what this past week was.
saturday. 2-8. union.
sunday. 12-5 union.
monday. 2-6 hale. 10-4:30am hale.
tuesday. 3pm-7:30 am hale.
wednesday. 1pm-2:30 am hale.
thursday. 3-7 union.

the thing about this is, everyone knows i love my sleep and get really cranky when i don't get it. but i wasn't cranky at all. i was totally fine--to the point when i only slept cause my roommates told me to--because i was doing something i really like doing...and it kept me busy and time passed so quickly. maybe this was a sign from God that this will be my job someday. i think through all of this, that is what i learned. I think i would be happy doing design layout for a living. now i just have to find a place to do it.

anyways. my days with the library are not yet over, my history final is going to kick my butt. but the library and i are close. it will work out.

i made it.
go royals.

the week ahead.

as follows.

due thursday:
• Advertising Campaign for Tallgrass (approximately an over 100 page document put together by me and 4 others.)
• 10 page research paper over advertising and something
• 2 books read and discussed. (probably not going to happen)
• Family Relations and Gender Roles Final

so. see you not this week. if you want to visit me check
• the union (where i am currently sitting in the dark at caribou because they are closed on sundays, but its peaceful?)
• the library
• the morgue, because i might just die instead of facing this dreadful day.

reward goal:
paper heart with mara

its hard for me to believe that in two weeks i will be on a cruise---its seems like forever away.

think of me this week.
