my last winter break.

i can't believe i just typed that.

why??????????

ok...get a grip

things i have learned over break so far:
1. traveling with a large group of people has made me realize that i don't want a big family...(ok, i still kind of do..i want kids that all match in Polo and we travel together and are so cute) but maybe if they are my kids i can control them more. I loved going on the cruise, but it was stress city....and i put more stress on myself then anyone else put on me.
2. michael beasley has 2 kids. WHAT? michael, get a grip on your life and stop being a punk.
3. my computer has a slot where you can put a SD card in and it will pull up pictures right away! now i don't have to go searching for my camera hook up ever again! apple, you are genius.
4. as much as i love catching up with people i have not seen in a while, if your not dating anyone, or know what you are doing when you graduate, the conversation is awkwardly short. this i learned from experience, because both the above situations are true in my life.
5. i can't get anything done in my house, so being in manhattan for two weeks before school starts will hopefully make me be productive on jobsearch2010. i will also be baking lots of goodies in my NEW KITCHEN AID. love.
6. winsteads is possibly the only reason i would want to come to kansas city when i graduate. (ok this is not entirely true, but i miss that place)
7. i need to work out. this is my new years resolution
8. i am freaking gradating in may. it keeps getting closer. i got a K-State Alumni License plate thing for christmas from my little sister, who doesn't understand this freak out i have been having all fall. she is about to go into college, we'll see what she gets in four years for christmas...thats what we call karma.

i am sure the rest of break i will learn many more new things, but thats all i have for now.

have a good new years, and if you are in the little apple, look for me.*

*i wrote something else here originally, but decided not to post it. if you know me well, i'm sure you can guess what i said.

we survived.

friends. the semester is over.
there were times when the dark cloud of doom was so dark, i didn't think this day would come.

but the dark cloud has moved on and passed and it feels great.
i rewarded myself with a cruise with my fellow kappa sisters. which was so much fun.
besides the fact that we almost didn't make it.
but i did get sunburnt on only the left side of my body. typical.

and now tomorrow is Christmas Eve. doesn't feel like it.

remember when Christmas never seemed to come fast enough?
now its like. oh no, its christmas eve and i have nothing to give people.

i miss that feeling of waiting for Christmas. it must be me getting old.
i still have no clue where i will be coming from a year from now, but i won't be home coming downstairs for christmas. i will be coming from somewhere else. I decided i can't move back home after graduation. not possible.

goal for break. get stuff ready to send out to people that will hire me.
wish me luck.

merry christmas friends, i hope its great.

lessons from hale.

considering i spent probably 80% of my life from monday to thursday in the library i will share with you my wisdom.

the third floor is where it is at. not only is it where i lived, but it also has a TV hooked up to cable, which is where i watched the basketball game on tuesday night.
when you live at the library, you have every right to...
• turn on the cupid shuffle and dance to it. (3am wednesday morning)
• lay on the ground and stretch. (done countless times)
• call your roommates and ask them to bring you food--which i have the best roomates and they did this. and i was SO GRATEFUL. you don't even know.
• drink caffeine non stop. (check)
• talk loudly and complain
• wear sweatpants, uggs, and layers of tshirts to cover up your smell.
• bring the most random food with you. for example, mint m&m's, a whole jar of applesauce, apples, peanut butter and jelly.

my group decided that i should have a stack named after me for a day. cause this is what this past week was.
saturday. 2-8. union.
sunday. 12-5 union.
monday. 2-6 hale. 10-4:30am hale.
tuesday. 3pm-7:30 am hale.
wednesday. 1pm-2:30 am hale.
thursday. 3-7 union.

the thing about this is, everyone knows i love my sleep and get really cranky when i don't get it. but i wasn't cranky at all. i was totally fine--to the point when i only slept cause my roommates told me to--because i was doing something i really like doing...and it kept me busy and time passed so quickly. maybe this was a sign from God that this will be my job someday. i think through all of this, that is what i learned. I think i would be happy doing design layout for a living. now i just have to find a place to do it.

anyways. my days with the library are not yet over, my history final is going to kick my butt. but the library and i are close. it will work out.

i made it.
go royals.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

the week ahead.

as follows.

due thursday:
• Advertising Campaign for Tallgrass (approximately an over 100 page document put together by me and 4 others.)
• 10 page research paper over advertising and something
• 2 books read and discussed. (probably not going to happen)
• Family Relations and Gender Roles Final

so. see you not this week. if you want to visit me check
• the union (where i am currently sitting in the dark at caribou because they are closed on sundays, but its peaceful?)
• the library
• the morgue, because i might just die instead of facing this dreadful day.

reward goal:
paper heart with mara

its hard for me to believe that in two weeks i will be on a cruise---its seems like forever away.

think of me this week.

what will life entail.

of course, this is the question i got asked most during break. and still no answer. obviously, i would have rejoiced and written about it. doesn't anyone read this? haha..
i'm kidding.

ok. break. good. i slept lots and my family was not happy that i did that.
the lake, always a joy. so pretty and such great times seeing family i hadn't seen in years. cousins are so great. and wicked and dinner with my sisters/mom also great. i like that musical, and the songs. we sang afterwards in the car. and then on saturday my friend kylie got MARRIED!?

WHAT?! i am now friends with a married friend. (i did have a married friend before, but this is beside the point.) her wedding was beautiful and she looked amazing. and it was all so cute. so congrats kylie and matt!

and today i saw The Blind Side with chelsi. we ate lots of popcorn, which will hopefully keep me full the rest of the night cause i have zero food in my house. but the movie was so great, and the fact that it is all real and true is so great too.

so a pretty boring blog post but there is my life for you all.

a more positive post.

i think God reads my blog.

cause after my rant last time, i have heard his voice through sermons and other sorts of church things that tells me to be thankful for things. to be more positive about things. to look at things through rose colored glasses, if you will.

and i had such a great weekend. friday night, my best ies from high school came in town. and we went out with some work friends and it was so fun, and i loved it. and i love them. and i miss them lots. and lots.

and then last night was just good times with the ladies of the left six -laura. and a k-state game which we sadly lost.

but keep praying for me, that i can keep a more positive outlook on things. so i can be more joyful around you all.

dear mom.(and kk.)

As I sit here in salsaritas, with KK, listening to awful music, trying to work on my paper, I get distracted. I start thinking about my future. I know that this is pretty much the only thing I talk about on this blog, but its really the thing on my mind all the time. I start looking online for job ideas, cause I don't even know what I want to do with my life...but these are the conclusions I have come up with.

A.Q. Miller School of Journalism. I blame you first. If I had known what I wanted to do before I came to college, I would not be sitting here in the basement of the K-State Union, drowning out Salsaritas music with Christmas Music (which I can't believe I am listening to before Thanksgiving, but my life is at a low, and this is one thing that can make it better) I would probably sitting at the University of Missouri, where maybe, there would be a professor that is under the age of 60 and knows something about technology. Maybe there, I would graduate with confidence in myself, that I could go out and find a job because I have had training on web design, and all the Adobe Creative Suite. Maybe there, I would have a school that is well known for a journalism degree, so that when someone looks at my resume they are impressed, rather then K-State? and start a laughing. Maybe there, they would be FRIENDLY when you enroll for classes, and not judge you or NOT SHOW UP FOR WORK when you have to turn in your STUPID piece of paper to let you enroll. I'm just saying.

I blame networking. You suck. Just cause I don't have the contacts/ confidence to bug people and ask about my portfolio doesn't mean I can't do a good job (from what I know, see above). I don't get how you are just supposed to all the sudden know people in your field, and they are just supposed to get you a job? WHat? then why do I even have a resume? Does anyone just hire these days? Nope. Maybe I should pay for a class about networking, rather then taking 6 classes about geology. "Do you know of anyone that can help you get an internship?" "No, but I can tell you what kind of cleavage that sedimentary rock has..." "YOUR HIRED". Yeah, like thats going to happen.

If college is about getting a degree and then getting a job, the LET ME TAKE CLASSES THAT WILL HELP ME. rather then telling me "No, you can't take web techniques, because there are too many advertising majors in there." WHAT? HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO COMPETE WITH THEM when we all graduate then?! Offer classes that tell me about insurance, what to do when you are unemployed and other such life lessons that I will soon learn in about 6 months. Don't make me take classes about rocks, biology or math.

What I want to do is design. Layout design, web design, create something. However, in the world, you need a graphic design degree to do such things. Did anyone ever tell me that I could have done a minor in graphic design? nope. sure didn't. And yes, i realize some of this is my fault, but I can't be expected to know everything. I want to find a job where I can be taught and work and create. I want a job in a new place, somewhere out of my comfort zone. Someplace I can be stretched and live without worry about finances.

But for now, I just worry. I have a constant thought of "I have no clue where or what I will be doing in 6 months." and this scares the living pants off me but also gets me excited cause who knows what God is going to bring to me in 6 months. Who know who I will meet, and start writing the next chapter of my life with. New friends, new coworkers, it all excites me. But for now, all I can hope for is Christmas break, and getting the things on my list like a toaster oven.

I know that this is all very negative and I do have so much to be grateful for, I have a house, I have food, I have friends, I have family. The Lord is good to me, and I love him for it. But to be honest, I have no clue what he has planned for me, I have not heard his voice in a long time.

School has consumed me more then any other semester, and everything I do in it tells me I just am not good enough. I don't know how to react from multiple things, classes, people telling me that it isn't up to par. Then teach me, show me, make me better. I can take criticism, I can take honesty, but please, PLEASE help me get better. Help me get the confidence to at least apply for jobs. That is all I am asking.

Love,
A troubled, low confident, not wanting to go to Grad School and just wants a job in May

cloud of doom theory.

ok,
so you know when you get your syllabuses at the beginning of the semester and you look ahead, and realize that everything is due in the same week? and then this cloud of doom forms and you can see it coming more in to view every day?

well friends, its getting closer. and behind it is another one with the word JOB looming in it.

its so dark, i can't even see thanksgiving, and christmas? haha, the only reason i know that is coming is because of the commercials on tv.

so dear cloud of doom,
i would appreciate it if you came and passed with no storms.
thank you,
love me.

welcome to my life.

it seems that every senior i talk to, this is the response i get...

"bahhhhhhhh"

and i will have to say, this is my response to any question you give me. how can i sit in the library all day, and not feel like i get one thing accomplished.

i think i put it the best last week, when i came home and just fell face first onto the couch and laid there. with my face in the couch, rainboots on, and backpack still on my back.
or maybe like today.
when i went to make soup and on the directions it said "one can soup, one can milk" and i called my mom and said, "milk comes in cart
ons, i don't understand".

there comes a point in the day, where all i can do is shut down, and it is coming earlier in the day every day. I dont know how i am going to have a real job, and be sane. i don't know how my mom raised 4 kids, while working, and being singl
e, and she is still WALKING! i am rethinking the number of kids i want....six is looking tough.

then there is the looming cloud of future that is coming closer with every blink of my eye. i have 0 clue of where i will be sitting one year from now. its starting to get to me.

its hard to stay mentally positive right now, so be praying for me.

on another note, i found this in my random reading on the internet--and i want to do this for a living. create fun and inventive things like this.

its kinda small. but i get lost in photoshop, or indesign or illustrator for hours. i could sit and try to create things all day and be fine. does this mean that this is my passion? I am still not convinced, or have enough confidence to look for a job like it. this comes back full circle to the cloud of doom that i mentioned earlier.

such is life...right?

she updates me on important information.

for those of you who can't read it cause the picture is coming out too small it says this:

So now K State is the sole occupant of first place in the Big 12 northern division. Who'd have thought it. Congratulations.

I understand you have been creating a web page with your portfolio, etc. I would love to see it when it is ready for viewing.

Love, Mimi

dear fall, where did you go?

fall.
you are supposed to come in september and leave in december
but you came and went so fast, i didn't get to enjoy you.
winter, you are not welcome this early. so please kindly depart until later...

and now my roommate just told me it was snowing. ahhh.

but i bought some sassy boots. so i guess that makes somethings better.

ok, i will leave you with this. a new song from BSB. its just funny.

but kinda catchy? sure.

end of a season.

well, so long baseball season, err..royals season i guess, because baseball is still going on, and it is quite exciting, however, the royals won't see another game until april. maybe by then they will fix all their problems and be good.

hahahahaha.

but it is the beginning of a new season...a.k.a. PUMPKIN SEASON. i kicked off with a pumpkin latte this morning, and after my super roommate gets back from her trip with like 8 pounds of canned pumpkin-haha in your face canned pumpkin shortage- we will be celebrating at the kearney house. so if you like pumpkin, stop by and enjoy everything you can imagine.

this weekend i did something on my bucket list. sang karaoke. and it was fun.

i also decided boys are stupid. sorry to all my male readers, but you have lots of dumb boys doing stupid things out there, and if you're not all like that, well...change.

ok library-see you tomorrow. i put all my homework off especially for you and monday.

a confession.

ok. here is a little secret for you blog readers.

there is this little part of me. like a 2% part of me that would LOVE to be a teen pop star.
i wish i
• had a killer body
• could dance
• could sing (although-maybe not have to be a good at it...cause most are not)
• would be comfortable showing skin.
• be really pretty.

now this comes out when i watch miley, britney and others, but i know that most of what they stand for i hate. but why do i secretly (not any more....cause i am sharing with you now) want to be able to do all that????

maybe in my next life?

but i wouldn't want all the media crap, rumors, and fame along with it. i don't like attention.
BUT STILL...

maybe i have some disorder or something that i can blame on my parents about this. i don't know.

tricia robben-next teen superstar.

oh wait. i am no longer a teen-i missed my chance. bummer for everyone.

Sunday, September 20, 2009

what i did this weekend.

i sat in my bed and realized my biggest fear.

i don't want to graduate in may and not have a job. i don't want to do something in retail when i graduate. so i spend my time looking for jobs. and have found none.

wish me luck.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

yep. the royals.

if you look closely you can see the headline that says "royals blow three run lead in 4-3 loss to tigers."

and its true.

then i found this little blog, which i don't have time to read but would like to.

http://www.ranyontheroyals.com/

i just love the royals so much, and i think zack should win, but we i don't know if he is.

story of my life.

this is so on my bucket list. i want to do a flashmob dance.

Sunday, September 6, 2009

well worth my 7 dollars.

so i downloaded tetris this past summer and play it on my phone every chance i get. mostly during class...but look. it will pay off. boo yeah.

gameday yesterday-not the best showing from the team, but good showing from the fans. i just love football. and its way fun to see the crowd from the field. whole new experience. and i am just having so much fun at school. makes me kinda not want to leave at the end of the year-but i will have to. but to go where? ahhh i don't want to think about it.

and tonight is my grandma's 75th birthday party. the limo bus picks us up at 5:30. yep thats right, we got a limo bus for my grandmas birthday. hollar to the coolest grandma.

and you better believe i make all my siblings/cousins/family members do the cupid shuffle* with me on it. i won't take no for an answer.

*which they played TWICE last night when i went out. i can't get over how much i love to dance to that song.

ok. go state.

Sunday, August 30, 2009

can i really expect anything less?

typical kansas city curse.

first week of school went well. who knew sitting in a class all day could make you so tired. but i am excited about this semester and figuring out what comes next in my life. i think i am going to move somewhere random-follow friends to maybe colorado?, head south to Dallas, or east to Tennessee? -nows the time right? just have to find a job. please let me know if you have any suggestions.

oh weekend, how i love how you are 2 extra days.

go royals?

Sunday, August 23, 2009

senior year.

its starting.

the past two weeks i have had so much fun in manhattan. hanging out with my pledge class, moving in, getting my house somewhat cute. there have been some fun times and memories i will always remember.

and now school starts. which is strange. not ready for it, good thing i have no class on mondays. one thing i am excited for this year, my internship. already been hooked up with sweet polos and jackets. go kstate.

wish i had better words to write you, but i don't.

have a good last-first day of school seniors.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

i don't need this from you.

ok weather channel, i know that i am single, and not getting married like everyone else in the world, so why rub it in? so next time i go to my weather bookmark and this comes up, i will not be happy. show me schoolday weather, or golf weather or even FITNESS weather, but not this. please and thank you.

little.

oh hey.

went to chicago, loved it. love the time with my mom, never been on a trip just the two of us. loved the shopping, now wish it was cold so i could wear my new clothes.

moved to manhattan, love it. i just couldn't help but smile today when i was walking around this little town. my sisters/dad helped me move in. they said my room was little, but it works for me, really well actually. i built a desk and chair today (from a kit) all by myself. and it is still standing. i love putting things together like that, i used to do it with my dad-and it is something i miss.
only downside to manhattan, i have been spending lots of money on things i need, which is ok i guess, and i have no food. cause our kitchen is a storage room for construction things. i am excited for them to be done with our house so we can make it cozy and cute.

excited to see my roommates tomorrow and all the little kappas as we start work week.

i have little time left in college, and i have no clue what is going to come next. i'll keep you posted.

p.s. taylor swift and keith urban=well worth the ticket on ebay that i got for a lot cheaper then the face value.

love.

lovebug

so tonight i went to my second .(pause. i just flicked a spider off my comforter. sick nasty). concert of the summer-last week i went to the fray which was INCREDIBLE and awesome and so glad i went. but tonight, something a little bit different for you all.

jonas.
yes, i traveled down to the sprint center, with thousands of middle school girls who are very good at screaming to see these brothers perform. we went down to the block party before-where i did the cupid shuffle and hoedown throwdown in the middle of the power and light. the only time those two songs have been played there, i'm sure of it.

i saw crazy teens, inappropriate dressed little girls and dads who looked liked they would rather be dead then at this concert, but the funniest thing was this:

we got to our seats like right after the first band was about to end-it took us 45 minutes to get in the sprint center! but anyways, we trucked down to our seats, which were rather good, i thought, and there was this guy standing next to us. like by himself. he was probably 21ish. give or take. so i kept waiting for like his sister to come back from the bathroom or something, but nope never did. so then he starts talking to me:

him: so have you seen them before?
me: no, i just am here with my little sisters...not really my type of concert to go to.
him: oh, well i have seen them-i am from alabama.
me: oh, so what are you doing here?
him: i am in the air force, i took the train here today to see the concert
me: oh thats cool.

the concert starts.
he sings all the songs, he knows all the words and he is totally rocking out.

excuse me but do you realize where you are right now, young man?

other convos from the night.
him: man, i need to be in a band, all these girls screaming would be awesome.

him: (while the jo bros are singing a song from camp rock) Man i wish Demi would come out! (the girl in the movie...the fact that he knows this is just so funny)

he proceeded to tell me stories about his friend who proposed to his wife in Cinderella's castle, about his little sister (who he called so she could listen to the concert) and more. just so funny. all i could do was sit there and laugh at him-cause he was so serious about the concert-he was all like-these guys are really talented. which i agree with a little. but sir, go like to a coldplay concert-those guys are REALLY talented. right?

hilarious.

then i made my sisters rock out to BSB on the way home-i just couldn't resist.

chicago tomorrow-until next time.

Sunday, July 19, 2009

ladies and gents.

i have nothing to say. except

dear manhattan,
i miss you. i will be there in three weeks. welcome me with open arms.

dear kansas city,
you have been good to me. i am thankful for your great weather, winsteads and royals, even though you suck. and tom watson, fellow KC friend (i have met him, and have his autograph, so he is a friend-right?) i wish you would have won today, you are a great guy.

dear chicago,
see you soon. be prepared for me and deens to come, eat drink and shop until we can't move anymore.

love,
me.

Monday, July 13, 2009

the end is near?

well, three weeks left of "summer" -aka when i move back to manhattan. and i can't wait. i miss that place.

i miss being close to all my friends, i miss being able to be on my own time and not have to worry about anyone else. i miss not having to drive 10 minutes to see someone. and all this talk about senior year is strange. i will go to my last first day of school this year. and its strange to think that in a year from now, i have 0% of an idea as to where i will be. i think God will open doors that i didn't think he would open for me, and he will give me a place to live and enough money to eat and such. and for this i am excited, because of the mystery of it all. but i am also scared that i will be alone? which is strange but recently it has been in the back of my mind. i thought that about this summer, and at times i have been alone-but i have also had some good times with friends, old and new. there are so many opportunities out there in the world, and if you would have asked me last summer where I thought i would be this summer i would have said lots of things that are definitely not the case.

i guess what i am kinda learning this summer is there is no reason to think about what you are missing out on, or what is to come in the next months, but live in the moments you have now, because who knows if those moments you dream about in the future will ever be true.

and keep your options open, especially in this economy.

on a different note, if anyone needs a date to the fray concert-i can clear my calendar...

Monday, July 6, 2009

my trip to DC.

i'm famous. thats all.

(ok i stumbled a bit, but the end makes up for it.)

Sunday, June 28, 2009

future.

today, was a great day to play golf. so i did. and didn't do too shabby. i had a lot of fun.

so listen, i have decided i want to marry a high school football coach from texas. this has become from my recent obsession with friday night lights, i just finished the first season. the head coach on the show and his wife have this oddly great marriage, and it makes me excited and hopeful that mine will be somewhat like it. i can't really explain what they do-but they communicate so well and just get along so great. now, i know that it is a tv show and your probably like "tricia is so lame for thinking that this happens in real life" but call me lame, because i do think it happens. I hope as i continue to spend the nights in my bed watching it-courtesy of netflix and my $9 a month-they keep their marriage great, and it doesn't fall apart.

on another note. i am going to DC thursday and am very excited.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

half way done.

summer is pretty much half way over. sorry to upset anyone having the best summer of their lives.

i finished my cooking class today. so if you need food, call me.

i am getting tired of selling furniture, so if you need some come and buy it from me so i can run out, how about saturday from 9-1. that is my next sale.

i am getting way excited for one week from today where i will be reunited with friends at the nations capital.

and recently i have been obsessed with watching friday night lights. i am almost done with season 1-glorious.

and tonight i want to go dancing.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

ah. hurting.

this weekend i went to the lake, which is one place i love. i don't go down much because it just never works out, so this weekend i did. and here is what happened.

i DID put on sunscreen, and fell asleep on the boat (which is my favorite place in the WORLD to take a nap, by the way) and then i noticed i was a little red. which by morning became a LOT red. and now i can't bend over, sit down or slap my leg* without it hurting.

*this i learned by unfortunate events on which i slapped my leg when i was mad.

i took a shot* with a live minnow in it. i say shot* because i didn't have my ID so it was just a shot of Dr Pepper, but my dad said that if i did it, i would get a free tshirt, so i had to. (i am poor a free tshirt is golden in my world). it was alive when i took it, and hopefully it died somewhere in my body. i don't like to think about it too much.

i have learned over the past month that i.
a. don't like sales,
b. have little panic attacks and need to learn to calm down (which didn't use to happen)
c. put a lot of pressure on myself
d. try to do everything everyone asks of me, and it gets overwhelming
e. can't work for my dad

while i am sure i will gain a lot from figuring these things out, it sucks learning them about myself. i have been very busy and not had a quiet day to just rest in a long time. this is why i am excited for school.

but what i am more excited for is D.C. which is soon. and i CAN'T FREAKING WAIT. just have to get through this week of stress factory finals in my cooking class. wish me luck.

yep. IT DID COME TRUE.

so after taking my computer in 4 different times to the apple store this is what happened.

genius: well, your computer is pretty jacked up, but you knew that...
me: yes.
genius: so here is what we are going to do, we will credit your account for the amount of the white macbook, so you can get a new one or upgrade.
me: WHAT? ok, are you sure?
genius: well i don't have to if you don't want it.
me: no, that sound great. (me thinking THIS IS THE BEST NEWS OF MY LIFE)

so i come to you, with internet, on a new. macbook pro. 13inch. lovely baby.

go royals.

false hope

the check was fraud. figures. don't know how or where they got my name/address.

keep taking my computer back to the apple store, got my logic board replaced
but my stupid internet STILL DOES NOT WORK. or works for 3 minutes and dies. i am scared to take the thing back in there. they are going to hate me.

i am getting tired of it. and i know they are too.

IT CAME TRUE?!

so, today my dad called and had received a mysterious package for me at his office. it was a check. now i posted some of the furniture i am trying to sell on craigs list, and had recieved a couple responses and people were sending me money-but then i figured out all those people who were going to send me money were a scam, so i figured this was one of their checks. but when i got it, it was from someone who i had not talked to on craigs list. it was from a company called Apple Inc.

so i googled it and it was an apple store. and i tried to call to figure out why they sent me this check, for a large amount of money, and if it was real, but they are closed.

but WHAT IF THEY SAW MY LAST POST and sent me a check for a new computer?!?!? but why would they send it to my dads work?! i am so confused.

but here is this check for the amount of a new computer, in my hands. WHAT?!

my wildest dream

so, towards the end of the semester my wireless card in my computer slowly started to die. this resulted in m using an Ethernet cable which worked great. until i got home and we don't even have that option.
lesson 1-Ethernet is handy.

so i made a handy little genius bar appointment at the apple store and spilled my problems, they so kindly ordered me a new card and replaced it-for free mind you.
lesson 2-buy apple care

so then i picked up my worn out macbook and took it home. it didn't work. no airport would even come up. so i decided to unscrew the back and figure out what was wrong. there were lots of different little screws and i think i put some back in the wrong place, after i couldn't even get all them off.
lesson 3-don't think you're natalie scott when taking a computer apart, because you are not and will not fix it

so i made another appointment and took it in. i figured i would just drop it off and they would fix it but the guy took it to the back and said a cable was unplugged, so he fixed it, and then i came back and it still wasn't fixed. i stumped the genius guy.
lesson 4-mac genius's are not all that genius-but very helpful and kind.

so then i left it there, and have not heard anything about it. so i am hoping this is how my next call from the apple store goes.

"yes, tricia? we have your computer, it is broken and can not be fixed*, but because you are such a loyal customer and awesome at everything you do, we are going to replace it with a new macbook, you can come pick it up tomorrow"

this would be the best day of my life. so please, be thinking of me as i sit waiting for this call to come.

i think this problem is because i have illegal softwear on my computer, the whole CS4 suite, which if they ask, i will tell them i bought and they need to replace because i have not even begun to have as much fun on it as it deserves.

What's up gas prices?....you are.

Well guys, i have been extremely busy the past week. I am ready to get back to manhattan so i can be less busy. but i have two months. here is what i have been doing..
•started class. and dressing in the following: (not by choice, but i don't mind.)
-chefs outfit complete with white coat, floppy hat, chef pants and ugly shoes.
•babysitting. this is enjoyable, and easy money
• selling accessories and working for my dad.
•visiting the melting pot with some friends for 3.75 chocolate. greatness.
• celebrating k-tyler finally turning 21 and catching up with friends.
• catching up watching one tree hill season four.
• hammering my finger while putting up a sign. now it is a purple color, go wildcats.
•filling up with gas. hence the title of the blog
• getting a new wireless card, hoping it will solve all my problems.

some things i have not been doing.
•playing golf
• pool.(this is fine by me)
• shopping ,which is good for my bank account.

don't get me wrong, i am really enjoying summer, and have done lots of things, but i am busier then i have been in so long. i get up early, go to class, work, then STUDY! which is something i am not used to (thank you A.Q miller school of journalism). I have had fun hanging out with friends, but i am so ready for.

•D.C.-three weeks.
•chicago- mom booked the tickets today
• kearney.
• a left six reunion ( this might not happen soon but i will dream)

ok. my bedtime is now, which is sad, but like i said-i am a busy woman!

bird crap.

this is what happens when i come home. my car, chester, becomes target for all of johnson counties birds to do their business on. every time i walk out to my car, i have a new surprise waiting for me. and then it makes me want to wash my car, but then i think.
a. i shouldn't use money on that
and
b. birds will continue to poop on it after it is washed, so what is the point.
so i have to push my OCDness about my clean car aside and focus on something else.

on another note, i have been golfing the past couple days and my body is sore. because i have also been lifting heavy objects. and yes. i am not made for that.

and on my last note, dear skip bo god. WHY CAN'T I EVER WIN A GAME ANYMORE? i don't think i have won in like 2 months. and this is not an exaggeration.

well friends, miss you, love you and if you are not doing anything this week in the afternoons, call me. i have pictures to hang and a store to organize.

flying by.

well summer has been summer for one week, and its been busy. texas was way fun.

working hard. going to texas. now back and figuring out the rest of summer. as i look at my calendar to figure out when i am
a. going down to the lake
b. babysitting
c. having little random sales
d. play golf

i am realizing that a. may never happen. which is a major bummer, considering that is the only place i will attempt to tan. every weekend i look at i am either doing b. or c. which is fine, because that means i am making money, but still. i love the lake and don't get to visit much. and then once school starts i won't make it cause i will be doing my sweet internship pretty much every weekend. so bummer. blah.

i am glad it is summer but sad at my discovery. class starts next week. early.

thats all.

all in a hard days work.

wow. i never knew me raving about men would get me so many comments. thank you all.

i worked all week. and i worked hard. the sale went pretty well, but there will be more, so you will be getting more annoying messages from me. sorry its my job.

not only did i work all week, i played too. royals game, birthday• dinner with friends, 24 finale. quite a week. busy and good.

now i deserve a vacation. to dallas i go. while i am there this is what i plan on doing.
•setting my sister up with a blog/google reader-she says "tricia. i am going to become a famous blogger, that is going to be my job. i am going to write about relationships...." so look out for her.
•going to jcrew outlet. love.
•meeting sisters new boyfriend. sir Isaac.
• being alone in a car by myself for 8 hours each way. i love driving alone.
• having a good time with my sister, she has lots of fun places to go.
• going to the byron nelson golf tournament. meeting a golfer. falling in love. and going from there. i'll let you know how that goes.

if you want to talk, call me tomorrow. i will be in the car for a while.

ok peace.

thank goodness for men.

so the past couple of days i have been slaving away in martin city getting ready for my big furniture sale. (its thursday and friday from 11-6...you should come) and some fun things have gone on, and i have men to thank for them.

first off, yesterday when kelsey tyler and i were looking through some art work, we came across this creature. it is known in the animal world as a snake. it happened to be black and about 2 feet long, just resting on top of this picture. SICK. i know. so here we are, two girls screaming and flipping out in this kind of sketchy back ally. what should we do? who do we call? we need a real man to come rescue us. so i call my youth pastor, he is from texas and manly. so he comes rolling up in his truck with his Kanakuk All around Good kamper canoe paddle and kills it for us. it was sick. here is the end result.
thank goodness for men number 1.

today, i had a couple friends come out and help me arrange furniture, move it around price etc. one of them was male, he did much of the lifting. my dad said he would help, but he didn't. he said he would have ray come help, but ray is like 78 years old, so its a good thing he didn't but i am lucky enough to have a friend that came and helped all day.
thank goodness for men number 2.

and last night i went to the royals game. they won in the 9th. they are men.

so thank goodness for men number 3.

i hope to see you all at the sale. and men out there who read this. thank you for being strong and manly and killing snakes.

sweet summer time.

so its summer. right? i have had a great kick off to summer-i am hoping that it is forshadowing my future. i moved into a new room at home. finally settled. went to oklahoma joes, and a the Royals game. Went shopping and ate with some Kappas and watched ace of cakes. perfect.

i am starting to sense that God has something really cool for me this summer and i am excited.

i start working tomorrow morning, getting all set up for the furniture sale. all the hard work will pay off when i go visit sister in texas this weekend. and watch a little golf tournament. lovely. *side note. if you are strong please call me, as i have some furniture to move and could use your help.

i forgot how my body says when i come home "i don't like to sleep during night so i will stay awake until 5am." this is not okay with me. i will work on it.

sorry for the lame post. but soon there will be adventures from texas. pastry school. D.C. and more.

peace out.

its that time.

well folks. ladies and gentlemen. readers. it is time for me to soon leave my abode for the past two years. as i sit here before i take my last final of junior year, i reflect on my past years living in a house full of 75 girls. I will not be retuning to live here again, which is kinda sad. but here are just a couple things i will miss about living in kappa, and somethings i wont.

things i will miss.
• left six dance parties. there is nothing better then dancing on your chair to single ladies, or britney spears with your best friends.
• always someone to play skip bo, or any other game with.
• being able to walk randomly around and find someone doing something funny, and then joining them and having a good time
• living next to cindy, who will always say something so ridiculous you can't help but laugh.
• watching 24 and then talking about it after.
• being able to wear your pj pants, rain boots and sweatshirt and then people asking you questions like "what are you wearing" and you saying "don't worry about it" and then they just laugh.
• brownies. gooey chocolate delicious brownies.
• coming home when you are really upset, and girls caring about why your so upset.
• girls in relationships* (this goes both ways) they always are there to give you advice or listen to a story
• girls not in relationships-then you can hang out and eat ice cream and cookie dough while watching You've Got Mail for 6th time this semester.
• living in a place where you never have to go to blockbuster because everyone has movies you can barrow.
i am sure there are so much more, and i will probably come back and update as i continue to think about it.

Things I won't miss so much.
• climbing up on my bed every night-multiple times in the night because my bladder has decided to shrink.
• changing the toilet paper roll every third time i use the bathroom (you may think i am exaggerating, but i know this happens every third time i pee-even in the middle of the night, i change the roll. )
• being around girls in relationships * (told you it goes both ways) sometimes you are so happy for them, and glad they are dating but you don't want to hear about it.
• people talking very loudly about things you don't want to hear about, but have to listen because they talk in a decibel that goes through five doors.
• options for dinner and such. i won't miss the food.
• not being able to have males in my room. not that i would have had them in here anyways, it will just be nice to be able to be where ever i want to be with them.
• phone and door duty. sometimes it's just silly.
• drama. thats all that needs to be said

thats all i can think of for now, but as i said before, there are many more.

I really have loved living in Kappa the past two years, and looking back i wish i could change somethings that went on, but i know that God put me here for a reason, and I will always remember it here. There is no other time, besides a nursing home, that i will live with this many people.

i love you all and will miss you.

on to kearney....

happy mothers day.

while talking to my mother on the phone in honor of her day, another witty comment from my stepdad that i felt like you faithful readers should know.

me. (i talked about dating. thats all you need to know)
mom. well maybe you will find someone in your pastry classes this summer, a fellow baker.
rick. (yelling so i can hear it from the phone) someone who makes a lot of dough!
(Laughter for five minutes on the phone)
mom. he was very proud of that comment.

so funny.
my last weekend in manhattan was a success, could have used a little less drama/freak outs but i only have myself to blame. now onto finals every day of the week and then summer.

dear nickel creek-how have a survived this long without you?

love. peace. and summer.

ambitions.

a recent conversation with my mom.
Deens: I had something really important to tell you...what was it? OH i remember, I was talking to this lady at work, and her daughter just got done with a program at JUCCO with a degree in Train conducting.
Me: yes...
Deens: I think you should look into it, everyone is retiring so they need people to start working and conducting trains.
Me. Oh well thanks, ok. You have such high ambitions for my future.
Deens: No, not like that, I just think it would be a good way for you to travel the world.
Stepdad-from the couch, YEAH-if she could get to the WORLD on a train...
Deens: Oh, well then, it would be a good way for you to see the United States and Canada.
Me: ok, well thanks, I will think about that. I don't really like trains, but I do like that striped stuff they wear..
Deens: Oh yeah so cute. Just keep that on your list for things in the future.

...what do you think-Tricia as a Train conductor?

people do change.

today i went and saw 17 again, by myself, and i realized things.
a. zac efron is really attractive.
b. people change, but they don't at the same time.

its like this. we have been talking about this lots in my philosophy class. do you think people are always themselves, or do they change depending on the situation? I think some core parts of us don't change, but over a course of years, you do change. its like this-obviously while you are in college, you arn't going to be the same person you were when you came into college as a freshman. Just think of high school, were you the same person you were as an awkward freshman? i sure hope not. same with college, people change and it is just a matter of if you change for the better and if the people you change with love you while you change, and before you change and after you change.

that is what will keep marriages in tact, and friendships still going, peoples ability to adapt to other peoples changes. and it hurts when people love you before the change and not after, but then you don't want to be around those people anyways-right?

i don't know i am just rambling but what it boils down to is, people are who they are, but they go through changes.

school is almost over, and it is a strange feeling. but i am 80% excited for the summer.

bake a cake.

well friends, i have completed my paper, on my own time, not according to the library's helpful timeline. but i do want to bake a cake like it told me to--so if you want to eat it, let me know. i may even give you the power to decide what kind of cake i make.
*UPDATE. this cake above.

this man is great. i love watching him. and watching the royals win.

on another note, my summer looks to have some trips in it, which will be exciting and give me someone/thing to look forward to. I bought my very first plane ticket all by myself last night to D.C. for the fourth of july. I am really looking forward to it. Now is the time to travel, i'm in college, I'm not tied down to anyone/thing and so i have decided to take advantage of it.

its rainy this week, and i want to play golf.

thats all.

spring madness.

it has started. it comes every year around this time. spring madness is what i like to call it, and i'm not a part of it.

which is fine, i don't think i want to be a part of it-but it is getting to me. friends getting engaged, dating, and having love interests all around them, it creates one of the loneliest feelings in the world for those not in it. it is reminding me that i am looking for things on this earth to make me happy, to fulfill my selfish desires, and the more i think about it and ponder it and talk about it, the deeper i go into loneliness. then i read this.

There are many such beliefs which must be removed-for example, that God removes a child because his mother loves him too much. That is the devil’s lie and a travesty on the true nature of God! If the devil can hinder us from taking the supreme climb and getting rid of our wrong traditional beliefs about God, he will do so. But if we will stay true to God, God will take us through an ordeal that will serve to bring us into a better knowledge of Himself.

i need to do this. obey God and trust him, knowing that he has this great love story out there for me, and when my heart is ready again, he will take me on that journey. I can't compare myself to anyone else, and I need to fully rely on God. Sometimes living in a house with 75 other women though gets to me. thats all i'm saying.

Saturday, April 25, 2009

not doing things.

does anyone want to write a paper for me? i think it is silly that the library closes at 5 on saturdays- i mean HELLO. we are in college. thats what we do.

my paper is already 4 pages, but i have nothing else to say, i feel like i am starting to repeat myself.

summer is crazy soon-this is coming out of no where. at first i am excited, but then i think about it, and am not. that is because no one will be in KC this summer. and i have class at 8am at JUCCO. i should have thought this through. OH well.

well, i a hope i am fooling my friend who thinks that I am typing my paper, but am really posting this worthless post that has no substance. yay for college.

love for all.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

this is what i have been doing.

hello blog world.
i recently downloaded last.fm-go there, it is like pandora but greater. and it tells you fun facts about yourself, like this is what it has told me about me.

•I have played David Crowder Band 1,155 times from my itunes. that is a lot of david crowder.
• after DCB comes Rascal, John Mayer and then Shane and Shane.
•My top track played is From The Inside Out by Hillsong, which has been played 103 times.

thats all. i have not figured out all that last.fm offers, but it is way fun.

another thing i have been doing-surfing the web on an ethernet cable cause my wireless decided to stop working-great. oh well, it gives me more time to work on this paper.

my summer seems to be falling together, thanks to my dad. here is what i think i am going to do--please comment and say if you would support this, or think it is a terrible idea.

PLAN:
My father has a lot of furniture he needs to sell. this furniture is lightly used, in model homes, and would be sold at a very discounted price. My job would be to run the business, make the ads, get the word out, and be at the store and sell the stuff. Would you buy it? It is a risk, but life is about taking chances right? unclear. but i think that it would be a good fit for my summer, cause then i could still
a)take pastry school classes at JUCCO
b)go to the royals games...alone cause no one will be in KC-but i won't touch on that.
c)visit people in
1)Manhattan
2)Branson?
3) D.C.?
d) go to the lake.
e) golf--once again, alone, but it will be fine. i will make friends or something.
f)babysit my little sophie.

thats what i have been thinking. and doing. and living.

thanks for reading.

busyness.

there is this great thing called sunshine.
and it comes once tricia starts getting busy.
this is upsetting because then i can't enjoy it.

coming up in the next couple weeks.
• extension of the greek community- which i get to choose, so this requires meetings and gatherings.
• 20-30 page paper due. remember that one time i posted about how the library so kindly gave me a schedule? well, i completed the last step many times, but have not done all the steps before, --go back and refer to that post to see what it was...
• finding a plan for my summer*-including driving to KC to apply at j.crew. and getting my computer hopefully fixed.
farm day. enough said.
• golfing. please.

so all, enjoy the weather, while i, for the first time in the semester have to be a student.

tricia.

*plan for summer-half way completed- i am enrolled in JUCCO pre-rec's for pastry school. last one in the class-i think it is a sign from God.

Monday, April 13, 2009

eleven.

i had a great weekend. i have great friends. this is why.

1. many of them stayed in town on friday night and went out to dinner for my birthday, i really appreciated this.
2. they supplied me with lots of water/bread during the night and made sure i didn't make a fool of myself. which (i don't think) i did. so thank you greatly.
3. they made me a way cool shot book that is so fun and i will love it forever. and they put quotes in it.
4. they came to the royals game with me. and it was cold. but so fun.
5. they are just so great.

i had a great birthday, and Easter weekend. I have great friends and family, and love them all. so thank you so much-and see you at the bars.

haha just kidding-really.
i just had to put it cause its legal now.

some unfortunate things.

i think my bladder is getting smaller by every sleeping moment. (and i sleep a lot, so you should probably be concerned.) this is only unfortunate because i sleep on the top bunk, and its a huge hassle to get out of bed 2-3 times in the night to visit the restroom. so bunkmate i am sorry for this.

its all cold and rainy. but my birthday is tomorrow, so everyone should be happy, even if the weather doesn't let you be.

better things that have happened recently:
the Royals won last night. 2-0. dear zack greinke, you are very socially awkward but an amazing pitcher, so i love you.
the masters start today. they are on ESPN360.com, so i can watch them during class.
my 3:55 class today: cancelled. so i can watch them live on a couch in kappa.
my birthday is tomorrow-while (secretly) i hate my birthday cause i don't like being the center of attention, i am excited to get to hang out with friends and celebrate me being 21. i don't know what events will really go on...but i think my dad is convinced i am going to go crazy. so watch out---?

ok. this weekend enjoy:
my birthday
the masters
the royals
the hannah montana movie
easter.
the T.I. song "dead and gone" its my new favorite.

(i will be enjoying all of these things)

Monday, April 6, 2009

on a whim.

this past weekend, i went to arkansas to visit her. it was so fun. it was like, [n.i.m.b.y.] fun, dont know what that stands for? j.f.g.i.---right? haha.

and then i came back to cold kansas, which shouldn't be cold cause its april 6.

and then i cut off all my hair. i'm turning 21, i had to do something crazy.

now i am just trying to figure out this summer- either
a. in Kansas city, doing something with my life
or
b. in Manhattan, doing something with my life.

but i have no clue what i will do in either.
overwhelming.

help.

mother nature.

there are 49 other states besides kansas.
many of them warmer. so WHY DID I CHOOSE TO GO TO SCHOOL HERE?
at the most bipolar, horrible drainage system place in kansas.

walking to class today was like pellets of ice on my face..oh wait-it wasn't "like" that-IT WAS THAT.

i mean, it is April 2nd, it is time for spring. mother nature, if i ever run into you--start running in the other direction. that is all i am saying.

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

beauty.

its almost done..can't wait to go to a game.
my birthday weekend as follows:
thursday: start of the masters
friday-good friday, royals home opener, and me 21.
saturday: royals game? do you want to come?
sunday: easter, finish of the masters.
join me.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

a lovely day.

this is why i love today, Sunday.
1. tiger woods golf-working his way to win a tournament.
2. college basketball on-my bracket is busted but a good game between OU and UNC will be on.
3. a projector screen with these things on to myself. perks to being the only one knowing how to use the projector screen at kappa.
4. homework to "do" while watching. not the highest productivity, but i have all day-right.
5. cherry dr. pepper and a potato from mcallisters. delicious.
6. snow on the ground, but melting. spring is near...i hope.
7. skip-bo breaks. i might have played for 6 hours yesterday. don't worry about it.

thats the day, jealous?

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

story of my life.

"Even though the number of internship positions available were reduced this year due to the economy, we received over 1,450 applications in all, an increase of over 36% over last year alone and a new record!"---

---if you have any jobs for me to do over summer please let me know.

on a better note...i have discovered cherry dr. pepper and am in love.

Monday, March 23, 2009

its beginning to be too much.

i love living in kappa. i really do.
and i am so happy for everyone in relationships. but it is becoming to be too much. all this talk about weddings and engagements-i can't take it much longer. i mean, there are so many great relationships out there, in k-state land and i really am happy for you but please. refrain from the talk future all the time. i hate to be negative nancy or the bitter single girl but you don't know what the future can hold, and i mean, it could be all that you imagine and everything could turn out how it is in your mind, or perhaps, God has another plan for you. i know this isn't what you want you want to hear but take it from someone who's world got shaken a couple months back. just be prepared for what might happen, even if you don't want to think about it.

thats all i am saying. i really do love you all in relationships, but keep grasp on what might happen.

off to the storm.
love

things you learn.

so for spring break, i visited my sister in texas with my mom and little sister jill. i am currently still here but here are some things i have learned so far.

.my little sister jill is obsessed with nick jonas and herself too much. she believes that they will one day get married, and talks about them like they are dating. this is too much for me. she also thinks she is the cutest person on the planet earth-i love her, but this was too much for me at times.
.going shopping with mom is way better then shopping by myself. she thinks i look cute in things, and then buys them for me. i am a true college student.
.student discounts rock. jcrew outlet-perfection.
.i am turning preppy. sue me.
.i don't sleep, i can't sleep, and it makes me no fun to be around. this i can't help, i take medicine to help me sleep but it doesn't work. so i just lay in bed for 3-4 hours thinking about things that end up making me in a bad mood when i do eventually fall asleep and then wake up. i am truly sorry for the way i act in the morning, but when i don't sleep, i can't help but be crabby.
.going on vacation with your mom also helps you eat every well. today we had a lunch of chocolate from the rocky mountain chocolate factory-which isn't healthy but if mom says you can do it, then its totally okay.
.this is all i have for now, all in all a great trip so far, new spring clothes, and tomorrow-IKEA. then back to manhattan sunday. see you there.

we're on a break.

it is that time, spring break is here
so run around and have great cheer.
the weather is nice, warm and sunny
go out and do some shopping-spend that money!
take a trip, around the globe
or sit around, in your bathrobe.
whatever you do, where ever you are
i am right here on his blog-not far.
texas is where i am headed this week
but i am updating you-i'm a real geek.
so enjoy the break, get some rest,
because when you come back, i'm sure there will be some tests.

the end.

p.s. i just went to cactus grill on a friday night and saw 1 person from high school, at the end of dinner...and she goes to k-state so it doesn't even count. ARE YOU SERIOUS? that is craziness.

serious time.

every once in a while a serious blog post happens. so get ready.

the enemy is so active, it scares me. just last night i had a dream and in it, a person who i consider to know me almost better then anyone else, told me (in my dream) that i wasn't special. he told me the reason we weren't together anymore and wouldn't ever be, was because i wasn't special, and i shouldn't get a high head that i am anything worth anything to anyone. now this was a dream, but i woke up and it was real. i felt hurt by it. just writing this brings tears to my eyes. I woke up feeling worthless and unloveable. i already have a lot of pain from this person, not necessarily his fault, but this adds to it, and it wasn't even him saying it. it was the enemy attacking me during one of my favorite things to do-sleep. not fair. so i started thinking, and i am doing a bible study with a friend and the verse we are memorizing goes like this: in three different ways:

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be(A) my treasured possession among all peoples, for(B) all the earth is mine;

If you will listen obediently to what I say and keep my covenant, out of all peoples you'll be my special treasure. The whole Earth is mine to choose from, but you're special:

Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

I have to keep saying this over and over in my head. I am special to the GOD OF THE UNIVERSE. he loves me. and it makes me feel great inside. i can no longer think of things said to me in the past, and in time i have to forgive the person who said them to me, and it will take a while, because deep down, i'm hurt by him but i know that God loves me and wants to hold me tight, forever. and i'm going to let him.

go out and be God's special treasure.

3 months.

Daylight savings. it is sillyish. i mean i like the extra hour of daylight and whatnot but today when i woke up, it was already noon! i mean, it isn't like i have a lot to do with my day today, but still, just knowing i spent half the day sleeping seems silly. but can't change it now-right so i must seize the day i have. what should i do...?

recently i have been going to the driving range a lot. i love it. and realize how much i have missed it. i think my favorite thing about high school and the thing i miss the most is golfing. going out everyday after school with some of the most fun girls ever and doing something i love and am okay at. i'll be honest, after i went to the driving range the first time this week, i was sore the next day, but it felt so good. if anyone out there that reads this would like to go with me sometime.please let me know, i always like a friend.

on another note, i went on a retreat this weekend, and it was great. there is something good God does when you are with people you don't really know but all love him. he is teaching me that he loves me and will never leave me, and i don't need to worry about that. i am experiencing his love every day, and it feels good.

and then last night i watched i think what could be my all time favorite movie. i say this because we started it at 1030 and i stayed awake for the whole thing, that is saying something. a league of their own. what a classic. i have probably seen it over 30 times in my life. maybe more. watch it, it will make you feel better about yourself.

well onward to the week. 2 midterms and then spring break. (which...seriously? already spring break?)

vicks vapor rub.

i wish i had some vicks vapor rub right now. a.k.a i am sick.

not fun.
the last post i talked about baking. here is what i made recently. if you look closely you can see the resemblance to a carmel delight girl scout cookie, but in bar form. if that is what you see, then you are correct. because that is exactly what they are.
on other notes, jon mclaughlin concert. lets just say, future husband, if you read this ever. you better be able to play the drums. or the piano. or both. just sing to me.

here is to being emo. love all.

bun in the oven coming soon.

as i am sitting here "studying"  i decided that after college, if i can't find a job-which, according to many articles and professors, i wont, i am going to go to pastry school for a year. what are your thoughts?

i'm putting it out there, but sometime in my life, i would love to take classes. maybe it won't be when i graduate, but down the roa
d when i have a family and make my own little bakery in my kitchen. that would be awesome.

anyways. surprise party went so great. he
re is what my mom looked like when she walked in. thanks to mimi my grandma for the photography.

she was so shocked and cute.
i loved it.

bun in the oven bakery-coming soon....?

birthday madness.

today is my friend mara's birthday. you all should go and wish her one.
this morning when i woke up, i saw it was snowing outside and decided not to go to class. but it was trick snow, its not even cold out. God is funny.

last night, i made mara a cake. i am slowly figuring out that baking is one of my passions and i can't wait for next semester when i get to bake all the freaking time. especially when i am
a)stressed
b)sad/depressed.
c) there is a special occasion.
so if you ever want something baked, make me feel like the above and maybe you will benefit.

anyways, this friday is the 13th. which is also my mom's surprise birthday party, which i am throwing for her. she turned 50 and has no clue what is coming her way. hopefully i will get some great pictures and share them with you lucky people.

well, i must attend P and D. give kappa a ring and i will answer.

peace.

birthday maddness.

lets just say this weather is awesome. does that mean that i went out and enjoyed it. nope. sure doesn't. it just made walking to my car 10 times better.

this past weekend was..a new experience? don't know how i feel about it.

next weekend=craziness. happy 50th mom, i am sure there will be a post about it. don't think i am talking about my valentines day, because there is nothing fun about that. i don't want to talk about it.

i wish i had something fun to talk about, sorry i don't.

smooches all.

that don't kill me will only make me stronger.

i think people forget that life is hard. like, if there is one thing you learn in college-that is it.

you learn that life isn't as easy as waking up and going to classes for the whole day, and then you come home and eat an after school snack
its more like-go to class and decide what you are going to do with your life, then if you are lucky..eat something that is not expired or moldy. Right?
life is all about the people you meet, the relationships you make and how you handle them and what you learn from them. and when you do learn from them, it will make you stronger, and a better person because of it.

you have to take each day, and decide..i am going to make the best of this. i am going to do something for myself. or else you will just spend life thinking about how much it sucks or isn't going the way you want it to.

accept your life, it is a gift God has given you. and learn from things, and become that better person you know you can be.

this was random/mumbled/jumbled. but my thoughts, so enjoy them.
