product of my mother.

went to my first kappa alumni association meeting tonight.
(wore jeans..this was a big no-no i guess. i'm sure the old ladies were not happy with me)
signed up to be communication chair.
(hoping to redeem myself for wearing jeans..)
realized..what? Did i really just sign up to do that?
(mental note, never wear jeans to a place where "ladies" will be- they don't like jeans)
yes. i did.

on another note...there is a hostage at the apartment complex down the road from me- and all these cops are outside.

welcome to my life. getting committed to things right away-and living in the hood.

one week down.

friends,
i am now an adult

well kinda. i don't really feel like I am an adult until i start drinking coffee every morning, so i'm going to start. i'll let you know how that goes.

but my first week of work was successful! I really like my job! It is such a laid back atmosphere, and I think I will be kept busy most of the time. I have my own desk and computer and email and everything! the strangest thing is, at 5:00 (or 3:30 on fridays for a couple more weeks) you can just get up and leave. You don't have to be finished with what you are doing, you don't have to be dismissed by a teacher or anything, you just leave! It's so great. I take my lunch every day and somedays get up the courage to eat in the break room..and try to make friends. Haha. but i got this free cup today.

which i love. i know it's silly, but its a plastic cup with a plastic straw! I guess silly things get more exciting when you are an adult..or i am just still in college mode where anything i get that is free automatically goes up to the top of my favorite things list.

and this week i got to see brian. which was so great too. and smags my little sister is a kappa at arkansas!

so i started off my adult life with a great week. and it is weird not being back in manhattan, going to class but I LOVE IT. because school and tricia don't mix.

but working all day is tiring. and i go to bed very early every night. which is okay with me. for now.

thats all.

its that time.

well folks. ladies and gentlemen. readers. it is time for me to soon leave my abode for the past two years. as i sit here before i take my last final of junior year, i reflect on my past years living in a house full of 75 girls. I will not be retuning to live here again, which is kinda sad. but here are just a couple things i will miss about living in kappa, and somethings i wont.

things i will miss.
• left six dance parties. there is nothing better then dancing on your chair to single ladies, or britney spears with your best friends.
• always someone to play skip bo, or any other game with.
• being able to walk randomly around and find someone doing something funny, and then joining them and having a good time
• living next to cindy, who will always say something so ridiculous you can't help but laugh.
• watching 24 and then talking about it after.
• being able to wear your pj pants, rain boots and sweatshirt and then people asking you questions like "what are you wearing" and you saying "don't worry about it" and then they just laugh.
• brownies. gooey chocolate delicious brownies.
• coming home when you are really upset, and girls caring about why your so upset.
• girls in relationships* (this goes both ways) they always are there to give you advice or listen to a story
• girls not in relationships-then you can hang out and eat ice cream and cookie dough while watching You've Got Mail for 6th time this semester.
• living in a place where you never have to go to blockbuster because everyone has movies you can barrow.
i am sure there are so much more, and i will probably come back and update as i continue to think about it.

Things I won't miss so much.
• climbing up on my bed every night-multiple times in the night because my bladder has decided to shrink.
• changing the toilet paper roll every third time i use the bathroom (you may think i am exaggerating, but i know this happens every third time i pee-even in the middle of the night, i change the roll. )
• being around girls in relationships * (told you it goes both ways) sometimes you are so happy for them, and glad they are dating but you don't want to hear about it.
• people talking very loudly about things you don't want to hear about, but have to listen because they talk in a decibel that goes through five doors.
• options for dinner and such. i won't miss the food.
• not being able to have males in my room. not that i would have had them in here anyways, it will just be nice to be able to be where ever i want to be with them.
• phone and door duty. sometimes it's just silly.
• drama. thats all that needs to be said

thats all i can think of for now, but as i said before, there are many more.

I really have loved living in Kappa the past two years, and looking back i wish i could change somethings that went on, but i know that God put me here for a reason, and I will always remember it here. There is no other time, besides a nursing home, that i will live with this many people.

i love you all and will miss you.

on to kearney....
