bird crap.

this is what happens when i come home. my car, chester, becomes target for all of johnson counties birds to do their business on. every time i walk out to my car, i have a new surprise waiting for me. and then it makes me want to wash my car, but then i think.
a. i shouldn't use money on that
and
b. birds will continue to poop on it after it is washed, so what is the point.
so i have to push my OCDness about my clean car aside and focus on something else.

on another note, i have been golfing the past couple days and my body is sore. because i have also been lifting heavy objects. and yes. i am not made for that.

and on my last note, dear skip bo god. WHY CAN'T I EVER WIN A GAME ANYMORE? i don't think i have won in like 2 months. and this is not an exaggeration.

well friends, miss you, love you and if you are not doing anything this week in the afternoons, call me. i have pictures to hang and a store to organize.

flying by.

well summer has been summer for one week, and its been busy. texas was way fun.

working hard. going to texas. now back and figuring out the rest of summer. as i look at my calendar to figure out when i am
a. going down to the lake
b. babysitting
c. having little random sales
d. play golf

i am realizing that a. may never happen. which is a major bummer, considering that is the only place i will attempt to tan. every weekend i look at i am either doing b. or c. which is fine, because that means i am making money, but still. i love the lake and don't get to visit much. and then once school starts i won't make it cause i will be doing my sweet internship pretty much every weekend. so bummer. blah.

i am glad it is summer but sad at my discovery. class starts next week. early.

thats all.

thank goodness for men.

so the past couple of days i have been slaving away in martin city getting ready for my big furniture sale. (its thursday and friday from 11-6...you should come) and some fun things have gone on, and i have men to thank for them.

first off, yesterday when kelsey tyler and i were looking through some art work, we came across this creature. it is known in the animal world as a snake. it happened to be black and about 2 feet long, just resting on top of this picture. SICK. i know. so here we are, two girls screaming and flipping out in this kind of sketchy back ally. what should we do? who do we call? we need a real man to come rescue us. so i call my youth pastor, he is from texas and manly. so he comes rolling up in his truck with his Kanakuk All around Good kamper canoe paddle and kills it for us. it was sick. here is the end result.
thank goodness for men number 1.

today, i had a couple friends come out and help me arrange furniture, move it around price etc. one of them was male, he did much of the lifting. my dad said he would help, but he didn't. he said he would have ray come help, but ray is like 78 years old, so its a good thing he didn't but i am lucky enough to have a friend that came and helped all day.
thank goodness for men number 2.

and last night i went to the royals game. they won in the 9th. they are men.

so thank goodness for men number 3.

i hope to see you all at the sale. and men out there who read this. thank you for being strong and manly and killing snakes.

sweet summer time.

so its summer. right? i have had a great kick off to summer-i am hoping that it is forshadowing my future. i moved into a new room at home. finally settled. went to oklahoma joes, and a the Royals game. Went shopping and ate with some Kappas and watched ace of cakes. perfect.

i am starting to sense that God has something really cool for me this summer and i am excited.

i start working tomorrow morning, getting all set up for the furniture sale. all the hard work will pay off when i go visit sister in texas this weekend. and watch a little golf tournament. lovely. *side note. if you are strong please call me, as i have some furniture to move and could use your help.

i forgot how my body says when i come home "i don't like to sleep during night so i will stay awake until 5am." this is not okay with me. i will work on it.

sorry for the lame post. but soon there will be adventures from texas. pastry school. D.C. and more.

peace out.

its that time.

well folks. ladies and gentlemen. readers. it is time for me to soon leave my abode for the past two years. as i sit here before i take my last final of junior year, i reflect on my past years living in a house full of 75 girls. I will not be retuning to live here again, which is kinda sad. but here are just a couple things i will miss about living in kappa, and somethings i wont.

things i will miss.
• left six dance parties. there is nothing better then dancing on your chair to single ladies, or britney spears with your best friends.
• always someone to play skip bo, or any other game with.
• being able to walk randomly around and find someone doing something funny, and then joining them and having a good time
• living next to cindy, who will always say something so ridiculous you can't help but laugh.
• watching 24 and then talking about it after.
• being able to wear your pj pants, rain boots and sweatshirt and then people asking you questions like "what are you wearing" and you saying "don't worry about it" and then they just laugh.
• brownies. gooey chocolate delicious brownies.
• coming home when you are really upset, and girls caring about why your so upset.
• girls in relationships* (this goes both ways) they always are there to give you advice or listen to a story
• girls not in relationships-then you can hang out and eat ice cream and cookie dough while watching You've Got Mail for 6th time this semester.
• living in a place where you never have to go to blockbuster because everyone has movies you can barrow.
i am sure there are so much more, and i will probably come back and update as i continue to think about it.

Things I won't miss so much.
• climbing up on my bed every night-multiple times in the night because my bladder has decided to shrink.
• changing the toilet paper roll every third time i use the bathroom (you may think i am exaggerating, but i know this happens every third time i pee-even in the middle of the night, i change the roll. )
• being around girls in relationships * (told you it goes both ways) sometimes you are so happy for them, and glad they are dating but you don't want to hear about it.
• people talking very loudly about things you don't want to hear about, but have to listen because they talk in a decibel that goes through five doors.
• options for dinner and such. i won't miss the food.
• not being able to have males in my room. not that i would have had them in here anyways, it will just be nice to be able to be where ever i want to be with them.
• phone and door duty. sometimes it's just silly.
• drama. thats all that needs to be said

thats all i can think of for now, but as i said before, there are many more.

I really have loved living in Kappa the past two years, and looking back i wish i could change somethings that went on, but i know that God put me here for a reason, and I will always remember it here. There is no other time, besides a nursing home, that i will live with this many people.

i love you all and will miss you.

on to kearney....

happy mothers day.

while talking to my mother on the phone in honor of her day, another witty comment from my stepdad that i felt like you faithful readers should know.

me. (i talked about dating. thats all you need to know)
mom. well maybe you will find someone in your pastry classes this summer, a fellow baker.
rick. (yelling so i can hear it from the phone) someone who makes a lot of dough!
(Laughter for five minutes on the phone)
mom. he was very proud of that comment.

so funny.
my last weekend in manhattan was a success, could have used a little less drama/freak outs but i only have myself to blame. now onto finals every day of the week and then summer.

dear nickel creek-how have a survived this long without you?

love. peace. and summer.
